Dr Jiang is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Alcohol Policy Research, School of Psychology and Public Health, La Trobe University. He obtained his Ph.D in Economics from Deakin University. He is leading and working on a number of ARC, NHMRC, NGOs and local government funded research projects. He conducts quantitative and econometric analyses in relation to the harmful use of alcohol and other drugs, with particular interest on estimating impacts of policy interventions on consumer’s alcohol consumption and purchasing behaviour and alcohol related social and health issues; links between trend of alcohol consumption, non-communicable diseases and injuries.

In the last five years, he has published more than 30 journal articles (most of them were published as first author) and two books in Addiction and Public Health fields, and received a number of awards, such as Publication Scholarship Award, Excellent Research Award, Conference Scholarship Award. He has published comment articles in leading health and medical journals, e.g., The Lancet and The Lancet Global Health and his research has been widely cited by social media, such as the Washington Post, BBC, ABCthe Telegraph, The Sydney Morning Herald and Bloomberg.
